Morning heel pain.

Morning heel pain is a very common complaint and is particularly acute among those with a heel injury. Usually, morning heel pain is experienced when first getting out of bed in the morning. The pain may begin after placing weight on the heel after any period of extended rest, such as after waking up in the morning. After a long night's sleep, this pain can be almost unbearable. Luckily, this type of heel pain in the morning usually goes away while walking throughout the day as the tissue warms up.
Many factors can contribute to morning heel pain and the conditions that cause it. In most cases, plantar fasciitis is what causes heel pain in the morning. This condition occurs when small tears and inflammation develop along the plantar fascia ligament, which runs along the length of the bottom of the foot. Millions of people suffer from this condition and it is the most common condition that affects the heels of the feet. It may also be responsible for morning heel pain. Another common condition that causes morning heel pain is the presence of a bone spur or heel spur. This condition is characterized by a bony growth that extends from the heel bone, or calcaneous, into sensitive tissue in the heel. When getting out of bed in the morning, or getting up after long periods of rest, the spur can dig into tissue in the heel, causing severe pain. Pain usually subsides as tissue adjusts around the spur, but can often return later in the day. The two conditions mentioned above are among the most common ailments responsible for morning heel pain. Rest or further walking can often cause discomfort to subside throughout the morning. When resting, the weight on the feet is reduced, thereby reducing pain that may be generated from inflamed tissue and/or a pointed spur. But it may quickly reoccur when placing weight on the area suddenly. When treating morning heel pain, the specific condition responsible for pain should be addressed directly. In most cases, conservative treatments for plantar fasciitis and heel spurs are usually most effective. One such simple treatment is through Podiatry Thailand orthotic shoe inserts. The best thing about orthotics is that they actually provide treatment while you are on your feet, when your need them the most.

Foot health and ageing.

As our feet grow older, they naturally develop more problems. But painful and uncomfortable feet are not a natural part of growing old, or something to ‘put up with’. A lot can be done to improve comfort, relieve pain and keep you on your feet for life.
Mirrors of healthThe condition of our feet often provides early indications of conditions such as diabetes, arthritis and circulatory disease. For this reason, the human foot is sometimes called the ‘mirror of health’. Look out for signs such as dry skin, brittle nails, burning and tingling sensations, feelings of cold, numbness and discoloration. Always seek the opinion of Podiatry Thailand when any of these signs occur.
As we age, our feet tend to spread and lose the fatty pads that cushion the bottom of the feet. If we are carrying extra weight, this can also affect the bone and ligament structure. Many people, including older people, believe that it is normal for feet to hurt, and simply resign themselves to enduring foot problems which could be treated.
There are more than 300 different foot conditions. Some are inherited, but for older people, most stem from the impact of years of use. However, even among people in their retirement years, many foot problems can be treated successfully by Rudolf van der Lubben, and the pain of foot conditions relieved. Older people should have their feet measured for shoe sizes more frequently, rather than presuming that their shoe sizes remain constant. Dry skin and brittle nails are other conditions older people commonly face. Taking good care of your foot health has many benefits including increasing your comfort, limiting the possibility of additional medical problems, reducing your chance of hospitalization due to infection, and keeping you active and mobile.

Keep them walking.

Mobility can be a problem for older people, yet with basic foot care, and the prompt attention of any problems, getting around shouldn’t be difficult. Rudolf van der Lubben provide services designed to help keep older people on their feet.

How Podiatry Thailand can help

Podiatrists are skilled foot health professionals trained to deal with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. Podiatrists have completed a Bachelor of  Podiatry or higher degree, and are continually upgrading their skills and knowledge through further education and training. Regular visits to Podiatry Thailand can help prevent foot problems, alleviate pain and help keep you on your feet and mobile.

Clubfoot, growth disturbances, paralysis, drop foot and leg length differ in children.

Usually after the surgeon and the rehabilitation team have completed their work (temporarily) and take a wait-and-see attitude until the child reaches maturity (aged 18) to view any further possibilities, these children end up at Podiatry Thailand.
We often see children with feet and leg length varying from sometimes more than 4 centimeters. The result is that these children are limping and these differences in length often cause a scoliosis and or kyphosis in the back, which in turn causes back problems. These children often feel socially disadvantaged, at school or in the group, they can’t walk, run or exercise well.

At Podiatry Thailand we can often help these children.

We often eliminate the length differences by combining any heel increases with insoles. This immediately causes a lot of progress and the child is no longer limping and sometimes even running and exercising Twice a year we have to re-measure the children and make adjustments in connection with the growth of the child. We try to make as much use as possible of ready-to-wear shoes and sports shoes and try to make the adjustments as invisible as possible. We try to minimize the amount of splints and Orthopedic shoes. The costs are not too bad! The parents buy nice shoes or sports shoes and we adjust them. These adjustments both on the shoe together with special insoles comes about 8000, - Bath

While walking the feet become longer (Gait). Somethemes more then 1 cm. Make the Orthotics from the dynamic blueprints otherwise they would not fit well while walking. They irritate and the patient will get blisters. Remember, a well-fitting Orthotics does not hurt, the patient can immediately walk all day on the Orthotics.
